In response to the "text" vs. "html" email messaging question, the vast majority sophisticated etailers (at least outside of the opportunity industry) utilize html for their email, eNewsletters, etc. Html allows for more flexibility in design and impact, and it allows the inclusion of hyperlinks sprinkled throughout the message that can lead the reader to whatever and wherever the sender desires.

A very important - and often negelected - component of the message is the subject line of the email. Many people's internet providers have "spam detectors" that are triggered by keywords in the subject line that automatically filter or funnel "spam" either into oblivion or into a separate folder that is rarely read. Even if the email was sent to an "opt-in" or permission-granted list and is not, technically, spam, keywords can trigger the spam-detectors to flag and funnel those "permission-granted" emails. Keywords like "free, improve, make money, opportunity, never-before-seen, mlm, home business, etc." are big-time triggers.

One must be creative and not overly obvious to overcome this potential obstacle.

Something to think about. Sean
