Sorry about the delay in response. I have been on call for the last 4 days including New Year's covering 6 doctors, etc. And yes, you can safely give TF as one cap a day in either formula or pumped breast milk to a newborn. If stressed, you can increase the TF to two caps twice daily, with no harm to the baby. We have had tons of experience with babies of all ages and had no problems supplementing whatsoever. Dr. David
