Hi David - I have this problem - it is called Supraventricular Tachycardia (don't know if I spelled it right). It started when I was 34 years old. I also have a heart murmur and mitral valve prolapse. I see a cardiologist twice a year and am on a medication called Corgard. No explanation for why this happens. Dr. told me that I have probably always had this but it wasn't triggered until recently. Mine was brought on by severe stress. I know it is very scary to go through this - I could be laying flat on my back just resting and all of the sudden my heart would start racing. Medication has mine pretty well under control - but I still get some heart pounding, mild flutters, and heart racing. I can still do everything I did before, I exercise 5 days a week. The only problem I seem to have is fatigue. I just started on the transfer factor about a month ago and today I started taking Rite Start for Women. Good luck to your friend and God Bless.
