Art touched on what I believe to be the most valuable part of going to convention, especially for someone who is relatively new to network marketing. A person may be working from home, perhaps alone except for a distant sponsor and a couple of customers. It is easy to feel like you are just about the only person on the planet doing this. Going to convention has a powerful psychological impact. Seeing so many people excited and having fun, feeling yourself part of a large, powerful organization is often just what is needed to renew faith in the company and in network marketing in general.
I certainly didn't mean to put any kind of a negative spin on convention! I've had more fun and been more moved at conventions than just about anywhere else in my life. At this convention you'll also be able to visit the great new facilities and meet so many of the people you've only contacted through the message board. It is a worthwhile experience.
My point is that not being able to go is not the end of the world and that it won't make or break your business. So go if you can and be encouraged that things are OK anyway if you can't.
Enjoy!
