Sorry to hear about your cousin. There is no natural substance that can thin the blood as well as coumadin. If your cousin is having a operation on his heart because of clogging of the arteries, he should take his doctor's advice seriously. Other arteries are probably filled with cholesterol including those that feed the brain blood.
To try in replace this medicine with a natural product could cost him his life. I would approach the challenge of the potential liver problem from a different methology. I would consume natural products that are known to assist the liver in cleansing and protection. There are several nutrients that can do this including milk thistle and lipoic acid.
