Transfer factors modulate the immune system over all. It does influence a number of subset of regulatory cells. Research suggest that transfer factors can effect a shift from Th1 to Th2 cells in one condition but create a shift from Th2 to Th1 in another condition. Transfer factors response to the immediate need of the body. It can have two different effects in two different areas of the body at the same time.
Research is ongoing on the broad effect transfer factors have on the modulation of the immune system. Researchers can observe the effects of modulation but are searching for all of the pathways used to modulate.
