I thank PN for the information regarding the local-long distance flat rate service. For a high user it is a great deal. HOWEVER I suppose that there are many of us who use the phone alot but not enough to make this deal pay when compared to a plan that I am using. I checked the Z-tel website and for me in Washington it would cost me $55.99 for the whole package and $35.00 for just the local service.

What I use for my business is a service available at WWW.ONESUITE.COM. If you are in an area where you can access their service through one of their local access numbers, your calls in the lower 48 states 24/7 are 2.5 cents per minute. That is what I pay. If I were to take Z-tel service the long distance portion would be $20.99 and dividing that by 2.5 cents equals right at 839 minutes or 14 hours. If you are in a location that you would have to use their 800 access number then it would cost you 2.9 cents per minute. This is a stand alone company not mlm. The only benefit is a few free minutes for referring someone to the service. That is not my concern and furthermore you would have to know my number for me to get credit. My intent is to inform you of the availability should you find it to be a useful option. One can sign up and still get the same rates to use as a phone card from any private phone in the 48. The only down side is a phone booth access charge of about 50 cents.

I hope this is helpful to someone. Take care.
